Support for art projects
After 16 years of meaningful philanthropic activity in the periphery—four of which were dedicated to managing the For the Art foundation, during which we supported over 45 projects—we, Vered Ilani and Sharon Brandes, have decided to embark on a new path. Together with our dedicated group of supporters, who make all of this possible, we are launching a new initiative!
As part of this journey, we have established a new foundation to support contemporary Israeli art: Art Now.
While supporting art in the periphery remains at the heart of our mission, we recognize that today, the need for assistance exists wherever artistic creation takes place. Therefore, the foundation will support select, unique art projects across the country, with a strong emphasis on quality and excellence.
The foundation seeks to support new and significant projects that benefit both artists and hosting institutions—projects that introduce innovation or serve as artistic breakthroughs for the artist or curator, created specifically for the exhibition context.
In this regard, the foundation will place special emphasis on projects intended for display in the periphery, as well as in museums and peripheral art institutions, even if they are located in central Israel.
Support requests will be reviewed by a professional committee consisting of five members: the two founders of the foundation and three leading professionals from the art field.
The foundation will provide funding for selected proposals, ranging from ₪10,000 to ₪30,000 (including VAT).
Funding will be granted directly to the exhibiting art institutions and will be transferred close to the exhibition’s opening date. The support is intended to supplement the exhibition’s guaranteed budget and not replace it.
>Application Deadlines
Applications will be accepted from February 1, 2025, until March 1, 2025, at midnight (Israel time).
Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered.
>Guidelines for Submitting a Support Request
Artists and curators who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply for support for a new art project in any artistic medium.
>Eligibility Criteria:

Support is available exclusively to Israeli artists residing in Israel.

The project must be new and must not have been exhibited previously.

The exhibition space must be a recognized, non-profit art institution.

Support is contingent upon an official invitation from the exhibition space and a commitment to realizing and presenting the project by June 2026.
